How to reduce the cable length on Stax Lambda and Stax SR-009

A few months ago I bought a Stax Lambda, but one side of the cable was faulty at the junction section.
I gathered the information necessary (thanks to Head-fi’er padam) to shorten the cable (in order to fix it), and I am sharing it.
For the Lambda, a hot air gun will be needed to detach the strain relief and be able to re-use it again.

1 – Thanks to Head-fi’er Nemeske88 for the following instructions for the SR-Lambda:

“Beforehand you need to desolder the whole stuff from the capsules
Then you use middle heat level to heat it up, starting pull it off slowly
When the strain relief start so become more silver-looking then let it cool down a little and then continue heating it up and pulling it off more
No worries if the copper slips out of the shielding, then use a tweezer to pull off the leftover chunk
If you figure out the right amount of heat then the cable will pull off without deforming
When cutting back the damaged cable, before spitting it up 3 ways put it through the leftover hole of the strain relief, if it does not fit then make it fit with a size 2 drill
If putting it through it succesful then split it and remove the shielding at the end and re-solder it back
Gluing not needed it will hold it back together enough, this is how mine is since years
Be careful that even the strain relief has a one-way direction (circular side, rectangular side)”
